WHAT: Mercy Nursing Facility at OLV is celebrating the extraordinary life of resident Eileen Selig, who is turning 108! Born on May 7, 1918 at the end of World War I, Eileen is known for her warm smile, infectious positivity, and sharp intellect, continuing to inspire residents, staff, and visitors each day.

As a lifelong resident of South Buffalo, Eileen’s remarkable life includes witnessing two total solar eclipses – in 1924 and again in 2024 – graduating from South Park High School, working at Woolworth’s in downtown Buffalo, and building a lovely family with her late husband, Arthur. Together, they created a lasting legacy of five children, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren, spanning generations and more than 100 years of living history!

WHEN: Thursday, May 6, 2026 at 1:30 p.m.
