Kenmore, NY – McAuley Residence, a Catholic Health long term care and subacute rehab facility located at 1503 Military Road in Kenmore (behind Kenmore Mercy Hospital), will be hosting a Halloween Open House on Tuesday, October 24 from 6 – 8 p.m. Area children are invited to dress in costume and visit the facility with their parents for a night of indoor “trick-or-treating.”
Residents and staff will be distributing candy as the children make their way throughout the facility. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our residents to participate in the simple pleasure of giving out candy to area children during the Halloween season,” said Theresa Cavanagh, Activities Director at McAuley Residence. “It also gives the children and their parents a chance to visit with many of our residents, creating a real opportunity for some special multi-generational interaction.”
Children and families from throughout the surrounding community are welcome to attend the Halloween Open House. “Halloween is a special time of the year – not only for the young, but for the ‘young at heart’ as well,” Cavanagh continued. “Our residents really enjoy seeing the children dressed in their Halloween costumes. It brightens their day to be able to bring a smile to a child’s face.”
Families and children experiencing any respiratory symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or cough, are asked to refrain from visiting.
