Jeffrey Steinig, MD, FACS, has recently been named Medical Director of Palliative Care Services at Mercy Hospital.
A General and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Mercy Hospital since 1995, Dr. Steinig most recently served as the President of the Mercy Hospital Medical Staff. In this new role, he will oversee palliative care consults throughout the hospital with a focus on coordination of care and symptom management.
Dr. Steinig is a Governor of the American College of Surgeons and currently serves as President of the WNY Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. A graduate of Canisius College, he received his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo where he also completed his Internship and Surgical Research Fellowship. He completed his Surgical Residency at Memorial Medical College in Savannah, Georgia.
Dr. Steinig is a resident of Williamsville, NY.
