Catholic Medical Partners (CMP), the area’s largest network of independent physicians, is pleased to announce that Margaret Paroski, MD, MMM, has been named President & CEO following a unanimous vote by its Board of Directors last Tuesday. Dr. Paroski is the first woman to serve as President & CEO of the organization.
A board certified neurologist, Dr. Paroski was named Chief Medical Officer of Catholic Medical Partners in October 2019 and then Interim President & CEO this past April. She has been effectively serving in dual roles and providing incredible leadership, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Margaret has really shone as Interim President & CEO. Her breadth of knowledge, and understanding of the health challenges and resources in Western New York have been invaluable to our organization,” said Kristen Robillard, MD, Catholic Medical Partners Board Chair.
“She’s a fair, passionate, and innovative leader. I’m delighted that she was unanimously chosen by our Board of Directors to permanently fill this role.”
A Buffalo native, Dr. Paroski has an impressive career distinguished by extensive experience and numerous accolades. She came to CMP from University Neurology, a division of UBMD. Prior to that, she held various administrative positions, including Medical Director at Erie County Medical Center, Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs & Admissions and Interim Vice President of Health Affairs & Interim Dean at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, and Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer at Kaleida Health. In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Paroski is a professor emeritus in the Neurology department at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where she has taught for over 35 years. She began her medical career at the Buffalo VA Medical Center and held hospital appointments at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Kaleida Health, and Erie County Medical Center.
Dr. Paroski earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in biology and psychology from Canisius College. She went on to earn her Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and her Master’s Degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Paroski is the recipient of numerous awards including, Women Making History in Erie County, The Seigel Award for Excellence in Teaching from SUNY Buffalo, Women in STEM – Buffalo’s Women’s History Month, Business First Power 200, and Business First Healthcare 50. Along with her many achievements, she has been involved with a number of academic, civic, and professional organizations.
Dr. Paroski’s new title and role are effective immediately.
