Given recent confusion about hospital visitation policies specific to labor and delivery, Catholic Health would like to clarify the following.
At this time, New York State guidelines for obstetrics during the COVID-19 pandemic, which all labor and delivery hospitals must adhere to, have not changed.
Each birthing woman is permitted one visitor during their maternity stay. No other visitors, including children under the age of 18, will be permitted.
If moms-to-be elect to use a doula during labor, then the doula is allowed to be present during labor, in addition to the mother’s one support person.
All visitation policies are subject to change and open to additional restrictions as hospital personnel sees fit. All visitors must meet visitation and screening requirements in order to be admitted to labor and delivery.
To expedite the registration process, visitors may complete an online form before their visit. A list of visitor guidelines and the online visitor form are available at chsbuffalo.org/visitor-guidelines.
