Just as physicians complete medical residencies to gain competencies in their chosen field of practice, nurse residencies are great way for new nurses to grow their clinical skills as they transition from students to experienced practitioners. Catholic Health’s fully-paid and accredited Nurse Residency Program is designed for graduate nurses interested in working in specialize clinical settings such as emergency care, intensive care, mother/baby care, and medical/surgical services.
Catholic Health invites area nursing students and graduate nurses to attend its Knowledge Harvest event on Thursday, November 14 at the M Hotel Buffalo, 2040 Walden Avenue (next to the Galleria Mall), from 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm, to learn how its Nurse Residency program can jumpstart their careers. The event will also showcase more than 25 research projects conducted by the health system’s Nurse Residents as part of their clinical training.
Throughout the evening, Catholic Health nursing leaders will be on hand to discuss employment opportunities for nursing students and new grads, and provide more information on the Nurse Residency Program. Former and current Nurse Residents will also share their experiences with the program and how it helped advance their careers.
What makes Catholic Health’s Nurse Residency Program unique is the individualized attention each nurse receives. The 6-12 month program is tailored to each nurse’s learning needs, offering a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience in Catholic Health’s high-tech simulation labs and in hospital-based clinical settings. Each nurse also has a dedicated liaison who works with them throughout their residency to ensure their success.
