At the M. Steven Piver M.D. Center for Women’s Health and Wellness, we prioritize the health and wellness of the women in our community. Our physicians, nurses, and specialists take the time to form one-on-one relationships with each patient to ensure that you receive the highest quality care, every time.
Our caregivers are your partners in making the healthcare decisions that are best for you. For instance, you may feel that physical therapy sessions are the best way to care for your body following childbirth. Another woman may be reassured by our use of advanced techniques to prevent and detect gynecologic cancers.
Here, we share a common goal – and that’s however the right way to care looks to you.
Women’s Care – Whether it’s your routine checkup, disease diagnosis and prevention, or providing knowledge and support throughout your pregnancy, we believe in empowering women with the information they need to have full confidence in their own health. We employ some of the region’s best OB/GYNs, dedicated to meeting women’s health needs with compassion and comfort.
Natural Family Planning – Based on where you’re at in your own life, achieving or avoiding pregnancy may be fairly significant. Our natural family planning program teaches healthy and effective ways to increase awareness of fertility, so women are able to make the decisions that are best for them.
Infertility – As tough as it is, becoming pregnant is easier for some couples than others. If you’ve encountered road blocks while trying to conceive, working with an infertility specialist can make all the difference. Our staff has expertise in conducting evaluations of both men and women, recommending treatment options, and providing support for couples who are navigating these challenges.
Pregnancy Loss – Catholic Health’s WomenCare program provides a variety of support services for parents who are grieving the loss of a child, with resources for miscarriages, stillbirths, and newborn deaths. These circumstances create heavy burdens to bear, and our programs were created in honor of families coping with loss.
Bone Densitometry – Bone densitometry is a special type of X-ray that allows technicians to measure the density of a patient’s bone. It is most commonly used to detect osteoporosis in patients who may be at high risk for fractures, due to weakened and brittle bones.
Mammogram – Digital mammography gives women a means for early detection of breast cancer. Mammograms are recommended as annual occurrences for women over the age of 40, though a family history of female cancers or other medical diagnoses may give physicians reason to suggest a screening earlier than 40. The Piver Center features three-dimensional mammography (digital breast tomosynthesis, or DBT).
Ultrasound – An ultrasound is an effective type of imaging that allows technicians to examine the structures and organs inside of your body. Ultrasound technology bounces sound waves off of body tissue and translates these waves into images.
Mental Health Counseling – Our mental health counseling services are provided by board certified psychiatrists and licensed mental health counselors for patients dealing with a variety of challenges. We care for a range of patients in a variety of settings, and are dedicated to finding the therapy method that works best for you.
Endocrinology – Our endocrinologists diagnose and treat hormone-related disorders, including diabetes, thyroid problems, and high blood pressure. We care for our patients using state-of-the-art technology, with access to the latest medical research and treatment options for endocrine disorders.
