Through modern prosthetics and proper rehabilitation, many amputees can lead active, productive lives. Catholic Health AthletiCare and Partners In Rehab’s Amputee Rehabilitation Program is helping patients on the road to recovery.
From the moment you or a loved one learns an amputation is necessary, we begin the education process with the entire family, discussing everyone’s needs and what lies ahead. From there, specially trained therapists work with amputee patients to help achieve their rehabilitation goals.
At Catholic Health, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals who have undergone amputation. Our team of specialists is here to support you through every stage of your recovery, ensuring you achieve the highest possible quality of life following any amputation or loss of limb.
Loss of any limb is a significant change for any individual. Learning how to support a loved one as they adjust to life after amputation is critical for family members. At Catholic Health, our team offers guidance and support to help patients and their families prepare for and adapt to a new normal post-amputation.
Our physical therapy and rehabilitation services are robust, including programs specifically designed for amputee care. These programs are tailored to your individual needs, ensuring that you’re able to regain as much movement, function and utility as possible following your amputation surgery or loss of limb.
For many amputee patients, prosthetics or orthotics offer the best quality of life. The Catholic Health Amputee Care team works with you to determine if a prosthesis or orthotic device is the right choice for you, and then working with you in rehabilitation to adjust to life with your new prosthesis.
