The very first wound healing program in Western New York was established by Catholic Health physicians, making us the region’s experts in providing exceptional wound care to our patients. Today, the team of specialists at the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital works to ensure patient comfort as we use state-of-the-art technology to treat non-healing wounds and ulcers.
Wound Care – A chronic wound or ulcer that does not heal within four weeks may require advanced care. The specialists at Catholic Health’s advanced wound healing centers are all board certified in wound care. Our practice focuses on using patient evaluations to determine the treatment that will be most effective for you and your condition.
Hyperbaric Medicine – A session in a hyperbaric chamber allows patients to breathe in pressurized oxygen, increasing oxygen delivery to damaged tissues. This type of therapy accelerates the wound healing process and the development of new blood vessels. Wound care providers will work with patients to determine if their condition would make them an ideal candidate for this treatment.
