Stacey Akers, MD

Care Philosophy

As part of my work with women who have been diagnosed with female cancers, I strive to provide the same level of care for all women that I would expect to give my own family members. The medical journey for patients with these cancers can be very difficult and I extend my care and concern to them. I work with them to become a survivor with my medical, surgical, and emotional support.

Background

Dr. Stacey Akers is a specialist in gynecologic oncology at the M. Steven Piver, MD, Center for Women’s Health & Wellness at Sisters Hospital. She also serves as a member of Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Department of Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Akers provides care for women with ovarian, endometrial and other gynecologic cancers, and minimally invasive gynecological surgery (including use of robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System). Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Akers was one of 60 obstetrics and gynecology fellows to receive the Excellence in Clinical Research award from Roswell Park. Her work has also been published in several professional journals and presented at a number of medical meetings.
