Background

Dr. Ryan P. DenHaese is a board certified neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from Niagara University before completing medical school at SUNY Buffalo and a Neurosurgery Fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. DenHaese has an extensive background in degenerative spinal conditions, artificial disc replacement, spinal reconstruction, scoliosis, neuro-oncology, and trauma. In treating patients, his approach is to avoid surgery when possible but when required his emphasis is on minimally invasive spinal surgery and motion preservation. This allows for a shorter recovery time, less hospitalization and minimal tissue damage.

In addition to his surgical experience, he has served as a medical director and director of medical education for multiple spine companies. In this capacity he has helped to train more than 1,000 surgeons worldwide.

A former Junior Olympian and Division I soccer player, Dr. DenHaese enjoys traveling, playing soccer and spending time with his wife and four children.
