Background
A native of Western New York, Dr. Ostempowski completed his undergraduate degree at Canisius College and medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
He completed internships in general surgery as well as orthopedic surgery at the University of Cincinnati, where he also served as chief resident during his last year.
Before returning home to Buffalo, Dr. Ostempowski spent a year as a fellow at the University of California at San Diego, where he trained in techniques of advanced hip and knee reconstruction under Dr. William Bugbee.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Ostempowski currently practices general orthopaedics. He performs open and arthroscopic procedures of the hip, knee and shoulder. He has a special interest in joint reconstruction surgery, including partial replacements, primary total and revision joint replacements of the hip, knee and shoulder. Rotator cuff surgery and basic fracture care are also routinely seen in his practice.
