Background
I decided to pursue a career in medicine in order to have a positive impact on other people’s lives and gain the privilege of developing relationships with them. I chose my specialty of pulmonary disease and critical care medicine because it offers the opportunity to encounter variety of disease processes from acute to chronic conditions with constant emergence of new data and literature that keeps integrated in the process of learning while providing evidence-based care for patients throughout different stages of their lives.
