Dr. Messana believes that each patient he sees is unique. His approach provides high quality, personalized care to every patient in order for them to achieve their treatment goals. He works hard to ensure patients understand their options, be that surgical or conservative, and why they are moving forward together with the treatment modalities they have chosen. His focus is on developing a care plan that instills comfort and confidence in his patients, letting them know they are in good hands
Dr. Messana is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity procedures. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, board eligible by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a Candidate Fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He received his undergraduate degree from John Hopkins University and earned his medical degree from Stanford University. Dr. Messana completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Albany Medical College. As a native of WNY, he returned to the area after completing a Pediatric Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the world-renown Christine M. Kleinert Institute.
