I pride myself on treating my patients as if they were a member of my own family. When I meet a patient, my goal is to get to know them, understand their problem and how it affects their daily life, and work together to find a solution. I want my patients to feel comfortable talking to me and to know that they are being heard. Building a trusting relationship and communicating well are critical to providing quality care.
As a hip and knee specialist, I am very motivated to help my patients maintain their mobility so they can continue to have a pain-free quality of life. There is no better feeling than looking a patient in the eye and seeing how much of an impact you’ve made by helping them return to the activities that make them happy.
Dr. David Vargo graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Vargo went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, MA. After finishing his residency, he was awarded an adult reconstruction fellowship at the OrthoCarolina Hip & Knee Center in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Vargo is a native Western New Yorker, having grown up in the Southtowns and graduating from St. Francis High School. After spending time away from Buffalo during his residency and fellowship, he decided to return to WNY so that his children could be closer to their grandparents, and to help the residents in the city he loves and calls home. Dr. Vargo was named Buffalo Spree’s Top Doctor in 2022 and 2023.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. My hobbies include golfing, snowboarding, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
