Care Philosophy

I care for women’s pelvic health in order to provide them with care that includes the latest advances in both non-surgical techniques and where indicated surgical approaches. Many of the women I see are anxious to have their problems identified while taking the shortest time away from work or family. Because I use the least invasive surgical procedures made possible by robotic assisted technology, patients can heal more quickly than with an open abdominal case and in many times have significantly reduced pain and discomfort from these procedures.

Dr. Ali Ghomi graduated from George Washington University cum laude. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at both Tufts University and the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also completed an advanced laparoscopic fellowship at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston.

Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Ghomi is director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic and Robotic Surgery at Sisters of Charity Hospital. He developed the first robotic program in WNY that focuses on benign (non-cancerous) gynecology.

As a nationally recognized minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, Dr. Ghomi has been published in academic journals and educates surgeons in the field of robotic surgery.

Dr. Ghomi is particularly interested in the evaluation and management of female pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, vaginal fistula and pelvic mesh complications.
