Meditation Garden

MHF Meditation Garden

Located in the Mercy Hospital Emergency Department’s inner courtyard, the garden features the original statue of Our Lady of Victory that graced the front of Mercy Hospital for over 80 years. This beautiful statue was given to the Sisters of Mercy in 1929 by Father Nelson Baker to honor the hospital’s silver anniversary.

Guests can also visit the Corner Stone Monument showcased in the Mercy Hospital Meditation Garden. This monument contains the original cornerstones for the 1926 Abbott Road Hospital, the 1967 McAuley Tower addition, and the 2010 Emergency Center expansion.

Annually, new benches, stones and bricks are added in honor and in memory of patients, families, caregivers, and loved ones and the Mercy Hospital Foundation hosts a blessing and dedication ceremony to consecrate the additional memorial and tribute markers.
