Don't let a lack of health insurance prevent you from getting the care that you need.
There are several options available that can make your medical care more affordable – even free.
Medicaid is a program for New York State residents who cannot afford to pay for medical care.
If you are a patient at Mercy OB/GYN Center or Sisters OB/GYN Center, our Medicaid advocates will assist you in submitting your application.
When you come in for your first appointment, our advocate will walk you through the application process, from beginning to end. Once the application is complete, the advocate will deliver the application in downtown Buffalo for you.
Fidelis is a public health insurance program for residents of New York State whose incomes are too high to qualify for Medicaid.
To make the application process as easy as possible, several of our primary care centers will work with you to fill out the application.
Participating primary care centers include:
Attend a health screening in your area to get a snapshot of your health. Remember: most medical problems are best treated early on, so it's important to screen for health issues, especially if you're not visiting a doctor on a regular basis.
Free diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol screenings are available throughout Western New York at our regularly scheduled community screening events.
These screenings are an opportunity to speak to a registered nurse about any health concerns and receive referrals to community resources.
