Athletic trainers are available at the schools below to evaluate injuries and provide therapy. Availability varies for each school; training room hours indicate at which times our athletic trainers are on-site.

Sarah McCabe has worked as a certified athletic trainer for 8 years. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Canisius College in Athletic Training and a Masters from Canisius in Physical and Health Education.
She is Head Lacrosse Coach at Medaille College. She also taught and coached lacrosse for two years in Gloucestershire, England.

Kip Palmateer is a certified athletic trainer for East Aurora High School. Kip became certified in 1991 after graduating from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. After graduation, Kip began working for Catholic Health and has been with us for 19 years. Kip has been the athletic trainer for East Aurora school district since 1999 and before that worked at Hamburg High School. In addition to his duties at the school, Kip assists physical therapists at Partners in Rehab clinic in East Aurora.

Training Room Hours: 2:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the fall and spring sports season and 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the winter season, in addition to home event coverage.
Tim Williams is a certified athletic trainer for Frontier High School and has been there since 2006. Tim graduated from Houghton College in 1999 with a degree in physical education and athletic training concentration. He has 10 years of experience in athletic training at both high school and collegiate levels. In addition to his athletic training certification, Tim is NASM certified for performance enhancement and a certified instructor for American Red Cross in Community CPR/First Aid training.

Shantell is a certified athletic trainer for Frontier Middle School. She graduated from Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Shantell played softball in college her freshman and sophomore years. She volunteered for summer Empire State Games in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In addition to her position with AthletiCare, she is pursing a physical therapy assistant degree from NCCC with an anticipated graduation date of May 2011.

Derek has been the Certified Athletic Trainer at Hamburg High School since August 2010. During college, he worked with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2008-2009 hockey season. He has been a USA ice hockey official from 2001-2009. Derek graduated from Mercyhurst College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Derek has been a Certified Athletic trainer since May 2010.

Anita has worked as a certified athletic trainer for JFK since August 2007. She has 14 years of experience working as a certified athletic trainer in Western New York. Anita graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Physiology and Athletic Training and then pursued a Master of Science from Canisius College in Physical Education. Anita is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Laura has been a certified athletic trainer for Kenmore West High School since August of 2010. Laura graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a concentration in athletic training and also earned a Master of Science degree in Health Promotion/Human Performance from California University of Pennsylvania. Laura also has experience in industrial rehabilitation.

Lisa has worked at Medaille College since August 2004, starting off as full time athletic trainer. She now works as an Assistant Athletic Trainer there. She graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and also earned a Master of Science in Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland. In addition to her duties at Medaille College, she helps with coverage of events for Monsignor Martin Association. Lisa is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through National Strength and Conditioniong Association.

Senior ATC for AthletiCare
Amy graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and joined Catholic Health AthletiCare in August 2000. She has been working as a certified athletic trainer for Lake Shore School District ever since. Amy is also certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Amy is a certified instructor of First Aid/Community CPR through American Red Cross, and in addition to her duties, is one of the lead instructors for classes for coaches offered by AthletiCare.

Megan is a certified athletic trainer at Orchard Park High School. She graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and joined the Catholic Health team in August of 2010. She also had the privilege of working at the U.S. Junior National Volleyball Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia in 2010. She is currently earning a Master of Science in Physical Education at Canisius College.

Mark has been working at Catholic Health AthletiCare since August 2010. He graduated from Canisius College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine, along with a minor in Health and Human Performance. He then went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Sports Science/Coaching from the University of Akron.
He spent the past year as an athletic trainer at The University at Buffalo, working mostly with the Division 1 volleyball program.

Lisa has 8 years of experience working as a certified athletic trainer and has experience in both secondary and collegiate levels. She graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. Lisa has a strong background in wellness and fitness in the community and workplace and has focused on helping others to "get fit." Lisa is a certified instructor through American Red Cross for Community First Aid and CPR.
