Supporting You Spirtually & Emotionally
We will support you spiritually, emotionally and psychologically as you move through your illness.
Often, when people are diagnosed with an illness, they are stunned. They may not be able to do anything about the illness and they never expected it to happen to them. At times like this, people need support in talking about their situation.
Our spiritual care professionals assist patients, family and staff in understanding the relationship between the physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of one’s well-being. We use a multi-faceted approach to healing, which can include art and music.
Why Spiritual Care?
You may benefit from spiritual care if you:
- feel depressed or emotionally upset
- need help coping with a crisis, such as the death of a loved one, diagnosis of a life-threatening illness, or other traumatic experience
- are preparing for a life change, such as admission into a nursing home
- have a critical or terminal illness
- want someone who will listen to your hopes, fears and uncertainties
- want to experience inner healing, find meaning in life, have someone to pray with or talk about religious concerns
