Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed for people with chronic lung diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

Through structured exercise and patient teaching, rehabilitation reduces the risk of future pulmonary complications by decreasing shortness of breath, increasing stamina and educating participants about how to manage their lung disease.

Services

Pulmonary rehabilitation is an education and exercise program that teaches patients about their lungs, how to exercise and perform activities with less shortness of breath, and how to live with their lung condition.

Through exercise, trained respiratory nurses help participants to be more active with less shortness of breath. This includes exercising both arms and legs to help individuals feel better and become stronger.
