Treatment Program

The program promotes functional mobility and enables patients to regain mastery of the basic and instrumental activities of daily living.

Patients are expected to be active participants in their hand therapy, which includes a home program. To further aid the recovery process, our hand therapists use custom-made dynamic, static, static progressive and functional splints.

The Hand Therapy Program is administered by certified hand therapists and physical and occupational therapists with extensive experience and training.

The program is designed to:

  • Promote functional mobility
  • Prevent adhesion and scar formation
  • Increase strength and range of motion
  • Promote sensory re-education and desensitization
  • Reduce cumulative trauma disorders (CTD)
  • Promote education of adaptive equipment
  • Foster pain management
  • Assist in prosthetic training
