We hope you are excited about taking this important step toward a new life! Your “joint journey” begins long before your actual surgery.
To ensure you and your family are fully prepared, we’ve designed a pre-operative education class and a printed patient education guide especially for you.
When you come to the pre-operative class, you will learn how to prepare for surgery, pre-operative exercises, precautions, how to manage your pain and other issues that may arise during your joint replacement journey.
You should attend class one month to two weeks before your surgery.
You will be contacted to register for class after your surgeon schedules your surgery with the hospital.
If you have questions about this class, please contact our orthopedic clinical advisor at (716) 447-6747.
Need a reminder of what you've learned in class? Click here to download our patient education guide.
This guide gives you important information about what will happen during your hospital stay and also helps you prepare for the post-surgical recovery period.
If you have additional questions, please contact Betty LoFaso, RN, BSN, clinical orthopedic advisor for our Knee & Hip Center, at (716) 447-6747 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
