Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is a medically necessary and cost-effective way of treating and controlling many preventable diseases and medical conditions. It involves the assessment of a person's nutritional status followed by the development and implementation of appropriate nutritional therapy. ServicesA registered dietitian can provide you with Medical Nutrition Therapy for a variety of disease states and medical conditions while you are in the hospital or on an outpatient basis. Private Nutritional Counseling Private nutritional counseling services are available to women and men by appointment through Catholic Health. Your session will take place in a quiet, confidential and comfortable atmosphere where you will have your questions and concerns addressed by a qualified dietitian. Insurance CoverageMany medical insurance plans provide coverage for outpatient nutrition services. Appointments may be made upon referral from a physician or a community healthcare agency. Clients may also be self-referred. Prior to scheduling your appointment, please check with your health insurance plan to determine if you are fully covered or if prior approval is required.
