Nutrition Counseling

What is Medical Nutrition Therapy?

According to the U.S. Surgeon General's Report on Nutrition and Health, eight of the ten leading causes of death, including Coronary Heart Disease, stroke, some types of cancer, and Diabetes Mellitus are related to diet.

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is a medically necessary and cost-effective way of treating and controlling many preventable diseases and medical conditions. It involves the assessment of a person's nutritional status followed by the development and implementation of appropriate nutritional therapy.
