Incontinence

What is Incontinence?

Incontinence of the urinary tract is an uncontrollable loss of urine that is most common in women over the age of 50 and in women who have recently given birth.

Visit our Health Library for more information about incontinence.

Services

Catholic Health evaluates and diagnoses urinary incontinence and performs various surgical and non-surgical treatments.

Physical therapy treatments for the management of pelvic pain and incontinence include biofeedback, muscle re-education, ultrasound and myofascial release/craniosacral therapy.

Besides general techniques, there are specific ones helpful in decreasing restrictions in the pelvic and abdominal areas, thus freeing compressed tissue and restoring more normal function. For more information, see our Pelvic Pain and Incontinence page.
