Nominate an Associate for the LOVE Award

The staff members below have been awarded the LOVE Award, a quarterly designation that recognizes Home Care associates who demonstrate a personal commitment to our values in their daily work.

Anyone can nominate an associate for the LOVE award – patients, visitors, family members, physicians, volunteers and co-workers.

Meet our most recent award-winners below:

Denise RybickiDenise Rybicki

2011 – Fourth Quarter Winner

Registered Nurse Denise Rybicki received the LOVE Award in the fourth quarter.

The manager who nominated Denise wrote: “She takes pride in her work and is always trying to learn something new. She has a very supportive way of dealing with our moms who have suffered an infant loss. Having a nurse who is empathetic, supportive and respectful is everything a patient wants and Denise fulfills that. Denise truly represents our values of reverence, compassion, justice and excellence in all she does.”

Adrian RylesAdrian Ryles

2011 – Fourth Quarter Winner

Home Health Aide Adrian Ryles received the LOVE Award in the fourth quarter.

The caregiver who nominated Adrian wrote: “Please consider Adrian for the next quarter – I am sure he will be deserving of it. He is very helpful for Russell’s care. As his main caregiver and friend, I am grateful for all he does to help. God bless Adrian.”

Suzanne EddoSuzanne Eddo

2011 – Third Quarter Winner

Physical Therapist Suzanne Eddo received the LOVE Award in the third quarter.

The family member who nominated Suzanne wrote that she "was unfailingly compassionate and kind to my mother. She was always sensitive to my mom's feelings about the things she recommended and realistic about dealing with mom's attitude towards her situation. She is a consummate professional and whoever hired her should be very proud of that decision."

Rose FolgerRose Folger

2011 – Third Quarter Winner

Home Health Aide Rose Folger was nominated for the LOVE Award by the family member of a patient.

The family member who nominated Rose stated that "as a nurse manager at a home care office in Rhode Island, I would be honored to Rose as member of my team."

"My mother, also a nurse (we nurses can be tough to work for), looked forward to the work being done so that she and Rose could have tea together. My mother was a social person and to be able to answer that need is a valuable asset for a caregiver. Rose's compassion and respect she exhibited for my mother should not go unrewarded."

Danielle FosterDanielle Foster

2011 – Second Quarter Winner

Physical Therapist Danielle Foster was nominated for the LOVE Award by a patient, who wrote, "I can honestly say that I have never met anyone as professional in doing her job as Danielle. She puts the patient first, pulling her skills and knowledge base along with all the 'tools' she has at her disposal to treat you."

Audrey BakerAudrey Baker

2011 – Second Quarter Winner

Audrey Baker, a home health aide, was nominated for the LOVE Award by a patient's son, who said, "Audrey is very attentive to all of my mother's needs and goes the extra mile to ensure that mom is comfortable. Audrey shows care and dedication for ther patients and she should certainly be commended for that. My wife and I are very fortunate to have Audrey for our loved one."

Selina BoswellSelina Boswell

2011 – First Quarter Winner

Selina Boswell, a Home Health Aide for Mercy Home Care, was nominated by the family member of a patient. The nomination stated, "I would like to commend Selina Boswell for her care and dedication to my mother. My wife and I are very fortunate to have Selina caring for our loved one. Thank you for assigning Selina to care for Mom."

Peggy Furlong, RNPeggy Furlong

2011 – First Quarter Winner

Peggy Furlong is a Registered Nurse for McAuley Seton Home Care's maternal child team. She was nominated by a co-worker, who said, "Peggy worked diligently to establish McAuley Seton Home Care as a Chapter for the Cribs for Kids program. The program has already benefitted many of our most poor and disadvantaged patients by giving their newborns a safe and comfortable place to sleep. She is truly dedicated to improving the lives of mothers and babies and is an invaluable asset to McAuley Seton Home Care."

Sara IzzioSara Izzio

2010 – Fourth Quarter Winner

Sara Izzio, a physical therapist for McAuley Seton Home Care, received the LOVE Award in the fourth quarter.

Her nomination stated, "Sara is an excellent physical therapist, easily the best therapist we have ever encountered. Sara is a good teacher with a positive and encouraging manner. She has a natural aptitude for this work. She is sympathetic, understanding, friendly and never gets frustrated. She knows her field and is always ready with good solutions, confidence and patience."

2010 – Fourth Quarter Winner

Claudia Voelker, a Home Health Aide at Mercy Home Care, received the LOVE Award in the fourth quarter. She was nominated by the loved one of a patient, who described Claudia as, "a top notch attentive caring person who goes the extra step to make mom's life joyful. I have never heard a loud or rude exchange, only laughter and patient understanding, even when Mom is resistant. Ths is quite a skill and one that deserves special recognition. Words cannot express how thankful I am."

Agnes BliemeisterAgnes Bliemeister

2010 – Third Quarter Winner

Agnes Bliemeister, a Home Health Aide for Mercy Home Care, received the LOVE Award in the third quarter. She was nominated by a patient's family member, who said in a letter to Agnes:

"I am writing to you in great gratitude for your tender loving attention to our mother during her last months with us. What you considered routine my mother looked forward to on a weekly basis because of your kind and gentle healing touch. She recognized something special in you and felt a connection in her own way. She often told me this. You remain very present in our hearts and we join in sending your way our wishes of peace and happiness to you and your family."

Melissa DulinawkaMelissa Dulinawka

2010 – Third Quarter Winner

A Registered Nurse for McAuley Seton Home Care, Melissa Dulinawka received the LOVE Award in the third quarter. She was nominated by a patient, who stated:

"Melissa has been coming to my home for the past 2 years. Throughout this time, she has demonstrated great care, concern and sympathy for me. While my illness has caused me to give up a great many things such as work, public outings and volunteering, Melissa never looked down on me or treated me with anything other than respect and dignity. Melissa never stops working on her patients' behalf. She is a true professional, an excellent nurse and a caring advocate. She is a conduit, a carrier of the helaing love of Jesus. I feel very comfortable and safe when she is with me for all my care."

Mark FeraMark Fera

2010 – Second Quarter Winner

Mark Fera, a Physical Therapist for McAuley Seton Home Care, received the LOVE Award for the second quarter. He was nominated by a patient, who said:

"I first met Mark when he was assigned to assist my late mother in her post-operative rehabilitation several years ago. I was incredibly impressed with his skill, knowledge level, and earnest concern for her, as was clearly apparent by his extremely caring and kind manner toward her. When I was recently prescribed physical therapy, I immediately asked if Mark could be assigned to me."

The patient describes Mark as cheerful, positive, supportive and incredibly compassionate.  "He is unquestionably a distinct asset to Catholic Health.”

2010 – Second Quarter Winner

Rita Santiago, a Home Health Aide for Mercy Home Care,  received the LOVE Award in the second quarter. A patient nominated Rita and said:

"Rita is a very caring and loving individual. She has empathy and sympathy for her clients. She gave me such kind words of encouragement. Rita is an asset to your company and will always go the extra mile. She goes beyond the call of duty when it comes to caring for her patients."

Christine KaneChristine Kane

2010 – First Quarter Winner

Christine Kane, an Occupational Therapist with McAuley Seton Home Care, was awarded the LOVE Award in the first quarter.

Employed by Catholic Health since 2006, Christine was nominated for her warmth and compassion and the emotional support that she provides to her patients.

"I have observed Christine work with 2 particular clients," said a co-worker. "She made them feel accepted and valued as people...Her warmth and genuine nature made them feel at ease and they could be themselves in her presence."

A patient also nominated Christine for the LOVE Award and said, "My considered opinion is that Christine is an exceptional therapist with an exceptional personality and deserves the LOVE Award."

Robin YoungRobin Young

2010 – First Quarter Winner

Home Health Aide Robin Young was the recipient of the LOVE Award for the first quarter of 2010. Robin has been with Mercy Home Care since 2008.

A patient's family member said of Robin, "Her kindness and caring attitude made my mother want to see her. My mother no longer spoke of wanting to die, and now started talking about Robin coming to visit. Robin sat with my mom, washed her clothes, cleaned her room, and, most importantly, gave mom something to live for. I feel Robin saved my mother’s life by giving her something to look forward to. It was inspiring."
