Treatment for Alcohol and Drug Addiction

Chemical dependency is an addiction to or dependency on alcohol, drugs or prescription medication.

Our chemical dependency programs offer a compassionate, non-judgmental approach that is sensitive to your needs for privacy and confidentiality.

  • Pathways offers methadone treatment. Patients addicted to heroin or prescription drugs receive a liquid dose of methadone, a synthetic opiate that controls withdrawal symptoms. The methadone is consumed on-site. Services are outpatient.
  • STAR offers outpatient drug and alcohol counseling.
  • Services at Mount St. Mary's Hospital are inpatient. The average length of stay is 19 days but varies depending on insurance. A prescription for alcohol dependence is required. Call (716) 298-2115 for more information.

The Catholic Health alcohol and substance abuse programs are approved by the Joint Commission (JCAHO) and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).
