"Since a Catholic health care institution is a community of healing and compassion, the care offered is not limited to the treatment of a disease or bodily ailment but embraces the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the human person...Therefore, a Catholic healthcare organization should provide pastoral care to minister to the spiritual needs of all those it serves."      - Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services

Who We Are

Catholic Health provides spiritual care services in all of its facilities including acute care, long-term care, and home care. Over thirty chaplains offer spiritual care to patients, families, associates, and the entire Catholic Health community. Our chaplains are board certified and are of all religious denominations in order to meet the needs of our diverse faith-based population.Chaplains are part of a health care team, which recognizes that acceptance, hope, forgiveness, peace and love are qualities that facilitate healing in our lives.

Because we believe that everyone has an innate spirituality, but not a common religion, we are committed to serving the spiritual needs of all patients, families and staff whatever the religious tradition. We will gladly contact a minister or rabbi or other spiritual leader upon request.

Why Are We Here

It has long been recognized that emotional and spiritual care play an important role in the medical setting. There is growing evidence that religious beliefs and spirituality bring forth and support the body's inner healing systems. Resources are available to explore your experience, some of the underlying factors/stressors in life, and their relationship to body-mind-spirit.
