Sisters of Charity Hospital in partnership with Synergy Bariatrics, a Williamsville-based surgical practice headed by Joseph A. Caruana, M.D., have been named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS). This designation is awarded to surgeons and programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery. Dr. Caruana, Chief of Bariatric Surgery at Sisters Hospital, began the program in June, 2000.
