Welcome to the Catholic Health System's Quality Website

The goal of the Catholic Health System is to provide the highest quality of care for our patients and the Western New York Community. To achieve this goal, we've invested extensive resources in quality improvement and in medical/information technology to create a "care environment of choice" for patients and physicians.

Our quality improvement efforts rely on several essential elements: planning, oversight and evaluation of initiatives; data collection and analysis; and collaboration, teamwork and communication among teams of caregivers.

We are proud of our quality and pleased to share some of our results. On this site you will find reports from trustworthy sources such as CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), data submitted to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement for stroke and critical care, and links/information about other hospital quality reporting sites.

Learn more about the many quality awards and honors which have been won by CHS. We've received national recognition for excellent medical care, outstanding patient and customer service, technology innovations, ethics and community service, among other areas. In addition you can learn about the quality initiatives in which CHS has participated.

You can also find out about the technical innovations at our acute care hospitals. These innovations give our physicians new resources for patient care, and give our patients access to some of the most promising treatments available.
