Cancer Services
The Oncology Department provides outpatient chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients plus other services such as outpatient blood transfusions. Chemotherapy is administered on the first floor where integrated staff provide a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

Emergency Services
Staffed by a team of board certified emergency physicians, physicians' assistants, and specially-trained registered nurses, Kenmore Mercy Hospital's Emergency Department treats over 26,000 patients each year. Equipped with the latest lifesaving medical technology, the Emergency Department at Kenmore Mercy is available around-the-clock to treat ant medical emergency.
Gastroenterology/Endoscopy
The newly renovated GI/Endscopy unit provides state-of-the-art equipment in a comfortable setting. The unit offers specialized diagnostic and treatment services for patients with a variety of digestive related disorders and illnesses affecting the digestive tract.
Hospitalist Service
Kenmore Mercy has been offering a Hospital Physician Services (HPS) since 1996. Staffed by a team of highly skilled, board-certified physicians, HPS works in conjunction with local primary care physicians to ensure patients receive the best care while they are hospitalized. Because hospitalists are onsite around the clock, they are able to immediately consult with hospital staff and provide care should the need arise.
Imaging and Interventional Radiology
Thanks to a unique partnership with Siemens Medical Solutions, Kenmore Mercy Hospital, along with the entire Catholic Health System, is raising the bar in bringing the most advanced imaging technology to Western New York. The hospital’s Imaging Department features a variety of advanced diagnostic and treatment services including MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, and Interventional Radiology. Often called the “surgery of the 21st century,” Interventional Radiology uses x-rays and other imaging techniques to “see” inside the body and guide narrow tubes (catheters) and other small instruments through blood vessels and other body sites to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.

Infusion Services
Infusion Services provides outpatient infusion therapies and outpatient blood transfusions. This service is provided within the Ambulatory Services Unit on the first floor, where staff provide a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
Intensivist Program
Kenmore Mercy is the first hospital in the Catholic Health System to employ a physician “Intensivist” to manage the care of patients in its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Because critically ill patients’ conditions can change minute by minute, studies show that ICUs with dedicated Intensivists, doctors with special training in critical care medicine, can decrease patient mortality by more than 10%. Hospitals which employ these measures generally meet some of the highest industry standards for quality and have fewer medical errors.

Private nutritional counseling services are available to women and men by appointment through the Catholic Health System. Your session will take place in a quiet, confidential, and comfortable atmosphere where you will have your questions and concerns addressed by a qualified dietitian. Radiology
The Radiology Department houses a wide range of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including CT, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, mammography, and Interventional Radiology. The department is directed and staffed by physicians and technologists - specialists in the field of radiology serving both inpatients and outpatients.
Rehabilitation Medicine
Through the Catholic Health System’s Partners In Rehab & AthletiCare Sports Medicine Program, Kenmore Mercy provides a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Hand Therapy services are available in settings that are convenient, comfortable, and well equipped. Kenmore Mercy’s 20-bed inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU) offers patients recovering from a stroke, orthopedic surgery or other more concentrated rehabilitation services.
Stroke Services (Designated Stroke Center)
Kenmore Mercy Hospital has been named a Designated Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health. This special designation means Kenmore Mercy offers the most advanced stroke care available to help save lives and prevent permanent disability. To quality for designation, hospitals must meet the state’s stringent guidelines for treating stroke patients, including offering timely and comprehensive diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services. Kenmore Mercy recently marked the one year anniversary of being named a Designated Stroke Center.

The key to successful treatment is knowing the warning signs for stroke and seeking immediate emergency care. Warning signs include:
- Sudden confusion or trouble speaking
- Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arms, or legs
- Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
- Sudden trouble walking or dizziness
- Sudden severe headache without cause

Kenmore Mercy offers a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient surgical services ranging from advanced orthopedic and neurosurgery procedures to general surgery. Recognized for outstanding care and superior service, Kenmore Mercy’s Surgical Services consistently receive the highest ratings in area patient satisfaction surveys.
- Knee & Hip Center
With the opening of the Knee & Hip Center in 2004, Kenmore Mercy continues to strengthen its reputation for high quality Orthopedic Services. Noted for its dedicated focus and innovative techniques, the Knee & Hip Center integrates a wide range of surgical advances with individualized care, education and support for patients requiring total knee and hip and partial knee replacement surgery. With highly skilled orthopedic surgeons and specially trained nurses, Kenmore Mercy continues to offer its patients the most advanced care available, including its world-renowned Unicondylar Knee Replacement Program. In 1999, Kenmore Mercy was named one of the nation's top 100 orthopedic hospitals for knee replacements by the Health Care Industries Association. Recently, Kenmore Mercy was the first hospital in Western New York to perform the mini hip incision for total hip replacement.
- Neurosurgery Services
Kenmore Mercy has made a significant investment in acquiring new technology to expand its Neurosurgery Program. Today, Kenmore Mercy is the only suburban hospital offering advanced Neurosurgery services - attracting new patients throughout the region. Procedures now available can help patients recover from brain and spine trauma, tumors, cerebral vascular disorders, such as aneurysms and clogged arteries, chronic low back pain, birth defects, and other injuries and diseases of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.
