An antibiogram is a table that lists antibiotic resistance patterns for common bacteria in a particular healthcare institution (or group of institutions).

This data helps guide you in your decisions for antibiotic selection for different bacteria.

The antibiogram is a fluid document that changes periodically based on the resistance patterns of bacteria in a given community. The source of the isolates tested is often delineated between different body sites since resistance patterns can differ between anatomical locations (e.g. sputum vs. urine).

The numbers expressed in the tables show percentages of isolates for each species that are susceptible to a given antibiotic over the past year.
