The following is an approximate breakdown of the total amount of modules spent in each area over the four years of residency. Most modules take place in Sisters of Charity Hospital unless otherwise noted.
Work HoursThe residency program adheres to the New York State 405 regulations. These regulations mandate:
Night FloatThe program utilizes a night float system. Residents on night float work Sunday through Thursday nights from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next morning or 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. The day residents never have to cover weekday night call and only have to take call on the weekends. Clinical ExperienceSisters of Charity Hospital has an excellent reputation for obstetric and gynecologic care throughout Western New York . With the addition of a world-renowned gynecologic oncologist, Dr. M. Steven Piver, to our full time faculty, we are now seeing even more oncology patients than ever before. Given the small number of residents in our program, residents receive ample experience in both obstetrics and gynecology. Clinical VolumeObstetrics
