Combining hospital-based activities, a multifaceted outpatient experience, and an understanding of the realities of private practice within an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse patient population ensures a strong clinical experience for our residents. The Graduate Medical Dental Consortium of Buffalo The Graduate Medical Dental Education Consortium of Buffalo is comprised of the nine teaching hospitals in Western New York, including Mercy Hospital of Buffalo and Sisters of Charity Hospital. Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Our four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology is a university program sponsored by the State University of New York at Buffalo. As a resident at Sisters Hospital, you will receive comprehensive education and training in OB/GYN, enhanced with solid operative experience and exposure to outpatient/office practice. The Osteopathic Training Program at Sisters Hospital is the first in New York State (outside of the New York City area) to be accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Podiatric Medicine and Surgery The podiatric training program at Sisters of Charity Hospital was established in 2002 and offers both PM&S-24 and PM&S-36 residencies. The Catholic Health Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversees any clinical trials conducted in any Catholic Health facility by an affiliated individual or group to ensure clinical trials are in keeping with guidelines outlined by the Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office for Protection from Research Risks and the Food and Drug Administration. |
