Twice each month, residents enjoy spending time with Rescue, a small tan and white dog owned by Ed Shagott.
“She loves to visit people and put a smile on their faces,” said Ed.
A friendly rescue dog from West Virginia, Rescue was found by a West Virginia University student who was hunting in the woods and who brought Rescue back to the area to find her a home.
Rescue visits five nursing homes each month.

Your staff was extremely accommodating and gave us a detailed tour of your facility.
I was immediately impressed with the layout of the facility and noticed the nurses' stations responded to all call-buttons immediately.
The housekeeping is excellent and all personnel are dressed professionally and are very pleasant.
The food was excellent and my compliments go to the manager of dietary. Social services does an excellent job of communicating and takes that extra step in welcoming new patients. Sanitation engineers keep the facility free of discarded debris on a continuing and timely basis.
I've observed throughout the day and into the morning hours, the professionals and aides that administer to their charges. They are pleasant, polite, conscientious and knowledgeable. That's a combination that all businesses look for but rarely achieve. Father Baker Manor has done just that!
