A Special Visitor

Twice each month, residents enjoy spending time with Rescue, a small tan and white dog owned by Ed Shagott.

“She loves to visit people and put a smile on their faces,” said Ed.

A friendly rescue dog from West Virginia, Rescue was found by a West Virginia University student who was hunting in the woods and who brought Rescue back to the area to find her a home.

Rescue visits five nursing homes each month.

Your staff was extremely accommodating and gave us a detailed tour of your facility.

I was immediately impressed with the layout of the facility and noticed the nurses' stations responded to all call-buttons immediately.

The housekeeping is excellent and all personnel are dressed professionally and are very pleasant.

The food was excellent and my compliments go to the manager of dietary. Social services does an excellent job of communicating and takes that extra step in welcoming new patients. Sanitation engineers keep the facility free of discarded debris on a continuing and timely basis.

I've observed throughout the day and into the morning hours, the professionals and aides that administer to their charges. They are pleasant, polite, conscientious and knowledgeable. That's a combination that all businesses look for but rarely achieve. Father Baker Manor has done just that!

I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I appreciate the employees at Father Baker Manor.

When my dad, Bill Murphy, was first there, he would point out different aides (Summer, Eunice, Will, etc.) and mention how nice or helpful they were. Dorrie is always coaxing dad to participate in her programs to keep his mind and spirits going.

About a week ago, I noticed that dad wasn't eating very much. Kara came over and asked if he might prefer a sandwich. Of course, he said no, but she knew him well enough to bring him one anyway. He ate the whole thing.

When I'm with him, I notice that everyone smiles and says hello and knows his name. And it's not just my father they help out. So many times, Toni and Karen have answered questions I've had. Everyone is always ready to help out.
