Pediatrics

At Mercy Hospital, we know that nothing is more important than restoring your child’s health and well-being. That’s why we created a dedicated Pediatric Department with a special hospital wing to care for children from birth up to age 18.

Patients are referred to this unit by area physicians.

Care that You Can Count On

Our pediatricians are available in the hospital 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Mercy Hospital has been awarded the Pediatric Patient Safety Excellence Award™ by HealthGrades® for 2010. This award recognizes Mercy Hospital's pediatric care in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and Pediatric Inpatient Unit.

Patient Rooms

Mercy Hospital’s Pediatric Unit offers a child-friendly environment to care for pediatric patients while, at the same time, helping to soothe and reassure them and their families.

The Pediatric Unit features 12 private rooms. Every effort is made to accommodate parents in rooms as well, so they can comfortably stay by their child’s side – day or night.

Children without contagious diseases can enjoy a playroom filled with toys, books and videos.

Our Team

Mercy’s Pediatric team includes:

  • Board-certified and/or Board-eligible pediatricians who are available in the hospital 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week
  • Subspecialty physicians
  • Specially-trained pediatric nurses who are assisted by technicians, registered dietitians (who are experienced in working with the needs of overweight children), clinical social workers and spiritual care specialists

Mercy Hospital is a teaching hospital, so our clinicians are at the forefront of advanced medicine and technology.
