Mercy Hospital's $32 million emergency department is the biggest emergency department in the area. The new ER features 32 private treatment rooms, including three airborne isolation rooms and two resuscitation rooms.
Patients and visitors arriving at the new emergency center will be greeted by a spacious and open reception area that looks and feels more like a hotel lobby than a healthcare facility.

In August 2010, Dr. Scott Zuccala of Mercy Hospital's Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and Dr. Ali Ghomi of the Piver Center at Sisters Hospital were guests on WJYE-FM's Spotlight on Health program.
