Emergency Care

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Mercy Hospital's MACC facility is a licensed 2-bed hospital, officially named Mercy Hospital, Orchard Park Division, offering 24/7 emergency care services.

The MACC differs from an urgent care center because it is considered a hospital, and therefore, can accept ambulances and patients with severe and/or life threatening illnesses or injuries. The MACC has access to around-the-clock cardiac and stroke services at nearby Mercy Hospital of Buffalo.

On the evening of my birthday, I experienced extreme abdominal pain. My husband drove me to the MACC after midnight.

The care I received was prompt, professional, and caring. I want to especially commend the RN and Nurses Aide who attended to me. The RN's kindness, patience, and attendence to my and my husband's concerns was truly commendable. We could hear her being called in many directions, but when we needed her, she was there.

I have told my family and friends of the outstanding care I received that night, and recommend the MACC to anyone in the southtowns with an emergent need. As an LPN for nearly 16 years, I understand the pressures of healthcare. You truly have an exemplary team at the MACC. Keep up the excellent job! It is greatly appreciated!

A difficult 2 1/2 years of seeing experts and having costly, painful treatments had left my mom's stage 4 wound in very poor condition. This painful wound just would not heal.

Several doctors, nurses, and specialists had treated her, stating, "She will have this wound for the rest of her life, just try to keep it clean." Another expert said, "Keep her in bed, up for meals only." For weeks and weeks, my mother could not sit in her favorite chair, play her games, do her crafts, go out shopping, or a visit with family. She had no quality of life. Another expert said, "This wound will only heal if skin graphs and surgery are performed, and even then, it may not fully heal.“

Thousands of dollars were spent, but most importantly, my mom suffered pain from this awful stage 4 wound.

Dr. Rohan, mom's primary doctor, had learned of the Advanced Wound Healing Center that had recently opened in Orchard Park, New York. He called me and insisted that I take her there ASAP.

She was seen immediately by Dr. William Lagaly.

My mom has Parkinson's Disease with Dementia. One of the first things I noticed was that the staff and Dr. Lagaly treated my mom with respect and dignity. They all spoke with her, asked her how she was, and genuinely tried to communicate with her. Sadly, most people ignore her and just want to speak with me.

He immediately did a full assessment of her and started her on a treatment plan. This treatment plan was an antibiotic solution that Dr. William Lagaly had put together himself. After years of no movement to heal, this stage 4 wound began to close. Dr. William Lagaly found just the right treatment.

Today, I heard, "This wound is healed!" I just can't believe it!

This is an exceptional doctor who is an expert in his field. He is caring, considerate, and most of all, he invests himself in his patients (a rare trait seen today). His staff is wonderful!

This office is clean, bright and beautiful. I can't express enough thanks to this wonderful doctor and the staff.

Please, if anyone has a skin or wound problem of any kind, go to the Advanced Wound Healing Center in Orchard Park NY. We are so fortunate to have this facility in Western NY.
