Individual units in the Fall and Spring require the student to be available weekly for 28 hours, 9 of which comprise the group process, 18 in ministry and 1 hour in a supervisory conference. This fulfills the requirement of at least 400 hours in for the student to receive credit for one unit of CPE. Fall and Spring units run for fourteen weeks.
The summer unit is 11 weeks in duration and requires the student to be available for 40 hours each week, approximately 10-12 which comprise the group process, one hour of supervisory conference and 25-30 hours of ministry. If a student wishes, he or she may pursue several individual units.
The 2011 CPE Schedule is as follows:
A resident commits to a year in the program, three units of CPE. A completed one unit of CPE is required for acceptance into the residency program.
The residency requires a student to be available 40 hours a week, 10-12 of which comprise the group process and 28-30 hours the ministry component. The group membership is stable through the three units, unless a student withdraws and a replacement is accepted. During the time between units the student maintains his/her ministry schedule.
The Supervisory Education program is a three year program. Two positions are funded by a stipend, however, each student progresses at his/her own pace through the phases of readiness, candidacy, associate and full supervisor. Students requiring more than three years to complete the program may continue to have access to educational opportunities as they become available.
