Personal Info: I enjoy doing just about anything outdoors, but my activity of choice will always be rock climbing. I spend the better half of my free time with my husband and our dog exploring all the trails, boulders, and crags that New York and Ontario have to offer.

Why this Program? This program initially drew my attention because of its location – all of my relatives live in Buffalo. I chose this program because it is a well-established residency with a heavy emphasis on teaching and an excellent continuity clinic. Every one of the attendings is an exceptionally genuine, approachable, compassionate, and dedicated mentor. Compared to other hospitals that I rotated through, the residents and staff at Sisters Hospital are very friendly and helpful. All in all, this program offers a remarkably positive and encouraging environment in which I feel inspired to learn and practice medicine.

Personal Info: One passion of mine, outside of the hospital, is working on cars. Whether it be detailing, modifying, or driving, I enjoy working on all aspects of sport cars. I also like to make time to follow both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.

Why this Program? Sisters of Charity Hospital was my number one choice for residency after completing several clinical rotations there. The knowledgeable and caring staff provides an ideal learning environment for future physicians, and recent graduates of the same program exceed my expectations of patient care. Also, this program is located in WNY, where I intend to practice medicine in the future.

Ashley KremerAshley Kremer, D.O.

Medical School: Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

Undergraduate College: State University of New York at Albany

Hometown: Lockport, NY

Specialty: Family Practice

Personal Info: Most of my family lives in the Buffalo area. I have a younger sister who is just completing a degree to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a younger brother who is currently an undergraduate at the University at Albany. My grandparents own a sailboat that my family races on Lake Ontario in the summer on most Thursday nights. I also love to ski, read, travel, and take my family’s yellow lab for walks.

Why this Program? I chose this program after completing multiple rotations through Sisters of Charity Hospital. While on these rotations, I saw how well people involved in the residency worked together. The residents helped each other, and the attending physicians were always helpful and encouraging, both of which seemed to lead to trusting, supportive relationships, allowing the residency to be educating and successful. I also love that the residency is in Buffalo, which allows me to stay close to my family.

Personal Info: I have a beautiful daughter, Kylie, and wife, Ashley. I’m the oldest of my siblings. I have a brother, Marc, and a sister, Breann. In my spare time, I love playing sports. I play basketball, bar league softball, indoor/ outdoor soccer, and volleyball. My favorite food is the famous “Three Cheese Steak Pizza” from Just Pizza. My favorite restaurant is Orrazio’s Pasta, Steak, and Seafood, in Clarence, NY. As for music, I like to get down to rap, hip-hop, and alternative. My favorite serious movie is “The Godfather Part II,” and my favorite stupid movie has to be “MacGruber.”

Why this Program? I choose this program because I did every rotation here as a third year and fourth year in medical school, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. And, as a bonus, it was close to home. The attendings are really nice and easy to get along with and work with. They are also willing to teach at every opportunity they get. Even though you work hard, it is a stress-free environment. Everyone in the hospital is so nice and willing to help you out if you need it. The Thursday lecture series brings a variety of different lecturers from different specialties to broaden your knowledge base. They even incorporate special OMM lectures. The part I like best is the continuity clinic at Primary Care of Western New York. The staff bends over backwards there to help you out in every way. The patients are of good diversity and always show up for their appointments. You also see interesting cases during every shift. I’m really glad I choose this program.
