Internal Medicine Training Program

Excellence in medical education has been a tradition of Sisters of Charity Hospital for over 160 years.

The University at Buffalo Internal Medicine Training Program at Sisters Hospital combines hospital activities, outpatient experience, and an understanding of the realities of private practice. You'll gain practical experience in diverse clinical settings and work with ABIM-certified staff who strive to bring the best out in you, based on your personal strengths.

Dual-Accreditation

As our program is dual-accredited by the ACGME and the AOA, our residents are exposed to multiple fields of study and become well-rounded, knowledgeable physicians.

We offer a fully approved, three-year program designed to satisfy the requirement for certification of the American Board of Internal Medicine to practice as a board-eligible / board-certified internist or entry into fellowship.

We also offer a preliminary year program that provides intense exposure to internal medicine for residents planning to enter other residency training programs.
