Director Quality and Patient Safety
The director participates and develops site strategic plans as they relate to quality & patient safety. Responsible for directing the overall management, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of quality and patient safety Improvement activities at the hospital and its associated sites. Directs improvement teams identified for process improvements within the site and represents site at corporate meetings. Coordinates all activities associated with Joint Commission accreditation and standards implementation to assure compliance with all required standards. Regularly interacts with the Department of Health, CMS, Joint Commission, and other external agencies in carrying out departmental duties associated with site quality & patient safety performance.
Primary responsibilities include providing adequate supervision for the Histology/Cytology functions and technical guidance and direction for the Histology/Cytology Laboratory. Prepares slides of body samplings to provide information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients; and assist pathologist as required during grossing and/or autopsies.
Neuroscience Registered Nurse Care Coordinator
The Neuroscience Registered Nurse Care Coordinator is a leadership role within a virtual interdisciplinary team comprised of acute and community based care that influences and achieves optimal clinical and resource outcomes. This is achieved by identifying the patient population to ensure effective transitional care by providing proactive care management services to at risk patients following an acute neurological event to reduce the burden of illness, improve compliance with evidence based clinical guidelines, care protocols/care pathways, the coordination of care, resources and services across the continuum while reducing the total cost of care and improving the patient experience of care. The Neuroscience Registered Nurse Care Coordinator serves as a change agent for clinical performance and process improvement.
Nurse Manager, CCU/OHU, Mercy Hospital
The nurse manager shares as a team member under the leadership and in collaboration with the Director, the accountability for the 24-hour management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance and regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected unit(s) of responsibility and the health care institution as a whole. Two years critical care experience, inclusive of open heart or acute surgical ICU experience, required.
Nurse Manager, Cardiac Surgery, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo

Supervisor Nursing, Subacute, McAuley Residence
The Nursing Supervisor translates the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the Nursing Facility into effective action. This individual is accountable for providing high quality, cost-effective resident care through appropriate management of human and fiscal resources. This position entails 24 hour responsibility, authority and accountability.
Surgical Technologist, Mercy Hospital
The surgical technologist assists the surgeon at the sterile field by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instruments and other supplies during the operative procedure. Maintain the surgical field through aseptic practices. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the perioperative team. Assists in the nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient for surgery, including assisting with circulating duties as delegated by the RN. Responsible for the assembly of cases. Works cooperatively with ancillary departments and other team members. Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
