The next class starts Monday, February 2, 2015. Class is held Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for 3 weeks. Attendance is mandatory.
HS Diploma or GED required.
Currently certified HHA or CNA candidates, as well as nursing students with one semester of clinicals, may qualify for a one day training course.

The director participates and develops site strategic plans as they relate to quality & patient safety. Responsible for directing the overall management, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of quality and patient safety Improvement activities at the hospital and its associated sites. Directs improvement teams identified for process improvements within the site and represents site at corporate meetings. Coordinates all activities associated with Joint Commission accreditation and standards implementation to assure compliance with all required standards. Regularly interacts with the Department of Health, CMS, Joint Commission, and other external agencies in carrying out departmental duties associated with site quality & patient safety performance.
Primary responsibilities include providing adequate supervision for the Histology/Cytology functions and technical guidance and direction for the Histology/Cytology Laboratory. Prepares slides of body samplings to provide information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients; and assist pathologist as required during grossing and/or autopsies.

The director is the leader of a team accountable for 24 hour/7 day a week management of clinical nursing practice, patient care delivery, the management of human resources, as well as fiscal responsibility for all areas assigned for both campuses of Sisters Hospital. The director will be responsible for the retention and development of existing personnel as well as fostering interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected units or areas of responsibility and the ministry as a whole.

The nurse manager shares as a team member under the leadership and in collaboration with the Director, the accountability for the 24-hour management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance and regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected unit(s) of responsibility and the health care institution as a whole. Two years critical care experience, inclusive of open heart or acute surgical ICU experience, required.
