Education Programs and Bonuses

Catholic Health recognizes the importance of education. That's why we offer the following benefits for students and recent graduates:

  • a tuition reimbursement program for students enrolled in an incentive-eligible position,
  • a degree program by which registered nurses at Catholic Health may earn a BS in Nursing, and
  • a hiring stipend for RN's who have graduated within three months of being hired.

Please see below for details.

Tuition Reimbursement

Catholic Health’s Tuition Reimbursement Program can help pay up to 100% of your tuition costs if you’re attending an accredited school for a degree in an identified incentive-eligible position.

Eligibility for this program starts after one year of employment with Catholic Health.

RN to BS in Nursing Program

Registered nurses at Catholic Health may participate in our RN to BS in Nursing Program in which students earn a BS in Nursing through a series of courses held at Catholic Health over a thirty month period. Catholic Health will pay tuition costs, and provide a laptop and fees for books. Graduates must commit to work as an RN for the equivalent of three years full time (5,850 hours) beginning at the completion of the program.

New hires must complete the probation period before enrolling.

Hiring Stipend

Student loans can add up fast, and monthly payments can stress you out as you start your career. Catholic Health’s Hiring Stipend Program can help ease your mind and lift some of the burden of your loan payments.

If you’re an RN associate that has graduated within three months from the date of your hire, you may be eligible for a stipend to help lower the amount of your loans. See your Catholic Health recruiter for details.

Clinical Nursing Ladders Program

Catholic Health Continuing Care has long recognized the importance of staying in the forefront of benefits available to our nursing associates. Our Clinical Ladder Program is designed to recognize full-time and part-time Registered Nurses working in our long-term care facilities. Through this voluntary program, nurses who strive for clinical excellence and demonstrate professional growth are eligible for salary increases and promotions.

Supplemental pay is awarded through an annual application process in which candidates submit a portfolio containing documentation of their accomplishments.

The program consists of four levels with the following pay values:

  • Level I – Base Salary
  • Level II – approx 3% Midpoint of Labor Grade
  • Level III– approx 7.5% Midpoint of Labor Grade
  • Level IV – approx 15% Midpoint of Labor Grade

Nurses must be employed at Catholic Health for at least six months before they are eligible for promotion.

Relocation Compensation

We know you’ll love living in Western New York as much as you’ll love working for Catholic Health. We can make your move to our area easier with our Relocation Compensation Program. Through this new program, associates hired into incentive eligible positions will receive cash to cover relocation expenses. See your Catholic Health recruiter for details.

Referral Bonus Program

Catholic Health has made it even more advantageous for Catholic Health employees to refer new hires with its improved referral bonus program for incentive-eligible positions.

Individuals who make referrals to Catholic Health, including but not limited to: union and non-union associates and their families, physicians, retirees, vendors, Catholic Health stakeholders, applicants, contract workers and others are all eligible for a referral bonus of $1,000 after just six months.
