She received her B.S. in Education from Mt. St. Joseph’s College and her M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College. She spent the years from 1966-1980 as a missionary in the Philippines. She did her training in Clinical Pastoral Education and Supervision at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital (now St. Luke’s Medical Center) in Quezon City, Philippines. Janet opened a CPE Center at Makati Medical Center in Manila, Philippines where she worked until 1980. She received an equivalency for MA Theology when she returned to the United States and established membership in various professional pastoral organizations. Janet is certified by both the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and is presently a member of the NACC Certification Commission. Janet has ministered as a teacher, a member of the leadership team of her community and the Director/Supervisor of the Mercy Hospital’s CPE program in Buffalo. At present, Janet is the Director of the CPE Center at Sisters Hospital and Supervisor of the Community-based urban programs. In the community-based program that she has pioneered, students are assigned to minister in shelters, soup kitchens, prisons, residences for persons living with AIDS and refugee programs. Dr. Tyler DudleyTyler Dudley is a Russian Orthodox lay minister. He received his B.A. in English from the University of Maine; his M.Div. from Colgate Rochester Divinity School; and his D.Min. from Andover Newton Theology School. He prepared to become a CPE supervisor at Worcester State Hospital, Westborough State Hospital, Boston City Hospital and Worcester City Hospital. He is a certified supervisor of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education; a diplomat in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a certified chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains. Tyler was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ in 1969 and functioned as a minister in that church until his conversion to Orthodoxy in 1995. He has served parishes in Rochester and Worcester, Massachusetts. Tyler has supervised CPE at Loretto Geriatric Center in Syracuse and the University of Rochester Medical Center (Strong Memorial Hospital) prior to joining the staff of the Catholic Health System in September 2001. Theresa LowtherTheresa Lowther is a Roman Catholic laywoman. Theresa was born and raised in Buffalo. She graduated from SUNY at Buffalo where she majored in English. Theresa attended Sisters Hospital School of Nursing and has worked as a psychiatric nurse in both hospital and community settings. In 1990, Theresa attended Christ The King Seminary in East Aurora, NY where she completed a MA in Pastoral Ministry. After completing internships in hospital ministry, Theresa entered the Catholic Health System CPE Program and became a certified NACC Chaplain. She is currently an Associate Supervisor working toward completion of certification as a CPE Supervisor in both ACPE & NACC. She is a member of the Sisters Hospital CPE Department. |
