Carl J. Montante Chairman's Award

Mr. Carl J. Montante, former Chair of Catholic Health's Board of Directors, is recognized for his dedication and service in leading Catholic Health to focus on the critical issues of patient safety, quality of care and patient experience.

In honor of Carl J. Montante, an award is given annually to a Catholic Health associate or affiliated clinician / physician whose purpose is to improve the quality of care and patient safety outcomes of our patients.

Award Benefits

• Development of an extensive knowledge base in quality and patient safety initiatives and outcomes in Catholic Health, including personal leadership skill-building.
• Provision of resources to implement your quality and patient safety strategy and agenda.
• Collaboration with senior leadership in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• An internally approved program or personal participation in a funded continuing education opportunity focused on Quality and Patient Safety.

Requirements

• Must be a Catholic Health associate or affiliated clinician.
• Must have experience and/or demonstrated interest in working to develop and implement patient safety initiatives.
• Submission of a capstone project specifying details of the project and anticipated quality and patient safety improvement outcomes.
• Must have a written letter of support from a supervisor, which authorizes release time for commitment and participation in ongoing quality and patient safety initiatives (see specifics in the application packet below).

Message from 2011 Carl J. Montante Chairman’s Award Winner

As the 2011 recipient of the Carl J. Montante Chairman’s Award, I have had the ability to work with many different people I normally would not have had the opportunity to work with.

I have also been able to participate in various new meetings that have given me a greater awareness about the committee structure and how Catholic Health works.

It has been very rewarding to work on my project to improve patient safety across the system over the last year. This award has allowed me to pursue continuing education which has been, and will continue to be, of great value for the rest of my career.
