Nurses of Distinction

Kathy Avino

Congratulations to the St. Joseph Campus Hospital Nurse of Distinction and Outstanding Staff Nurse.

Kathy Avino has been named the St. Joseph Campus Nurse of Distinction (above); and Michele Castiglia (not pictured), was named the St. Joseph Campus Nurse of the Year.

In Memoriam

Anne Zagorski, a woman of much talent, of such capability for kindness, and of fortitude, passed away on Friday, August 8 after battling cancer. In a few short months, we witnessed her health deteriorate, but her spirit was away there, shining through.

A dedicated associate of St. Joseph Campus, Anne faithfully served our hospital for nearly 30 years as an Administrative Secretary in the Nursing Office. Even after undergoing chemotherapy, she still optimistically awaited her return to work. Though she was often quite serious, everyone could always count on her to brighten our lives with her smile and grace. Though we may no longer see Anne at her usual desk, we will always have the special moments that we shared with her in our memories. She will always have a special part in our hearts. Let us be thankful that we have known such a wonderful, independent and strong woman.
