Each of the 3 session will be held for the duration of 90 minutes and be scheduled at various locations over the next several months, throughout Catholic Health, to ensure maximum participation. The presentations will be provided by the qualified staff from Partners In Rehab. Preventing Injuries at WorkPresenter: James Crawford, P.T. Dates: Thursday, March 18 from 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. - St. Joseph Campus Board Room Class Description: Do you become sore and/or achy during or work? Have you sustained an injury at work? Have you ever taken any time off of work because of a minor or more serious injury? Would you like to know how to prevent these and other symptoms, avoid injury, and improve your ability to perform your job duties on a daily basis? Preventing Injuries at Work will discuss some of the issues facing healthcare workers and your potential for developing injuries related to muscle/tendon, joint, etc. What you will learn:

Dates: Wednesday, March 17 from 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. - St. Joseph Campus Community Room Class Description: In this session, you will learn how to prevent workplace injury and improve your quality of life. This program covers the following topics:
You will also learn about the comprehensive 12-week Transitions Lifestyle Program, which emphasizes nutritional guidelines and recommendations; proper and effective exercise; behavior modification techniques and administration of a health risk assessment. How Does Exercise Influence Your Workday?Presenter: Lisa Stonebraker, ATC Dates: March dates have passed. Class Description: This session includes a short presentation and an exercise class. The presenter will teach you how getting in shape and staying active will benefit your job performance, help in your personal life and lower your risk of injury. You will be taught:
You will participate in an introductory Swiss Ball class, which is a combination of cardio, stretching, and strength training that uses exercise bands and a med ball. During this class you should expect to get a full body workout with which you are personally comfortable. Please come dressed and prepared to participate in the class. This includes wearing sneakers, fitted clothing, and appropriate support for women. The class itself will run 60 minutes. Please bring your own water bottle. Space for this session is limited to 10 participants due to space and equipment limitations. PrizesAt the end of each presentation, each participant's name will be placed in a random drawing and one Catholic Health Sports Bag will be awarded per date. Just for participating in any one of the 3 sessions (Preventing Injuries at Work; Work to Live, Not Live to Work: Healthy Nutrition and Exercise as a Life Style Choice; How Does Exercise Influence Your Workday?), your name will be placed in a random drawing to receive a free 8-week Swiss Ball Exercise class. The winner will be contacted via telephone at the completion of all sessions (July, 2010).
