Mount Mercy Academy students participating in the school’s Academy of Science and Healthcare hosted a dress-down day to benefit Mercy Flight, a non-profit provider of air-medical transport. The school raised $500.
Doug Baker and Sr. Sheila Marie Walsh, RSM, founders of Mercy Flight, were present to accept the gift on behalf of all the Mercy Flight staff, who have shared their expertise with the students at their airport headquarters.
The Academy of Science and Healthcare provides students with one-on-one mentoring experiences at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo in nine different departments and includes field trips to such as Hauptman Woodward, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Moog Medical.
